The Cove

Location: 2559 Broad Ave.

This low-key bar is in Memphis’s art district and stands out with bright colors and fantastic decor.  Locals love the classic cocktails, fresh oysters, and fantastic bare fare.  This bar gives off the feeling of a classic and comfortable bar that belongs in every city, and anyone could call their home bar.  The staff is incredibly friendly, and this has become a top haunt for locals who want to enjoy a drink with friends without much fanfare.

Blind Bear

Rating: 4.3 stars out of 5 stars.

Location: 119 S Main St ste 100. 

Approaching bartending with a sense of humor, the Blind Bear is a bar that doesn't take itself too seriously and allows you to feel like you've stepped into a 1920s -style speakeasy.  There's password access and classic southern food with pool and card tables.  This is an awesome place to cut loose with friends and celebrate life events like grabbing Memphis houses for sale you’ve been wanting. 

The Absinthe Room

Location: 166 Beale St. 

If you want fantastic drinks that are some of the strongest in the state, incredible entertainment, and great company: this is the bar to go to.  Many locals love the private experience it allows, with a great atmosphere and good music and food.  If you're going on a first date and want to impress the person you're taking, this is the bar you should go to.

Flying Saucer Draught Emporium

Rating: 4.4 stars out of 5 stars.

Location: 130 Peabody Pl. 

Many locals claim this is the best place in town, with inexpensive food and over 200 different global beers to choose from.  The classic American pub dishes are elevated here, delicious and well-paired with whatever alcohol you pick.  Locals say they love the large selection, retro atmosphere, and incredibly helpful staff.  This is an awesome place to catch up with old friends.

Alchemy Memphis

Rating: 4.4 stars out of 5 stars.

Location: 940 Cooper St. 

This sleek restaurant offers a large number of classic American dishes served tapas-style.  The drinks at Alchemy Memphis are a large assortment of cocktails that are handcrafted, offering flavors that range from well-known classic drinks to flavors that are unique to this cocktail bar.  Although this can be pricey, it's one of the best places to meet new people in town.
